Niall McInerney, co-founder of Medical Aesthetics, is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in Galway University Hospital, Ennis General Hospital, The Galway Clinic and The Bon Secours Hospital.

He is a member of the Irish Association of Plastic Surgeons. Niall offers all aspects of plastic surgery care to patients and specialises in reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery, hand surgery, skin cancer surgery, surgical and non-surgical facial aesthetics and rhinoplasty.

Niall is a native of Galway and a graduate of NUI Galway where he also achieved a Master’s degree in Breast Cancer Genetics, in conjunction with the National Breast Cancer Research Institute and Cancer Research UK in London.

He has broad experience in all aspects of plastic surgery acquired during his specialist training in Ireland.

Niall also completed a fellowship in Breast Reconstruction in Toronto, which involved all aspects of breast reconstruction following treatment for breast cancer - both microsurgical and implant based. This fellowship also gave him extensive exposure to all aspects of aesthetic surgery.

Mr. Alan Hussey is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeon based in Galway, Ireland. He graduated from NUI Galway and completed his internship before embarking on the Western Pre-fellowship Surgical Training Scheme. He pursued Higher Surgical Training in Ireland, earning his FRCS (Plast), and furthered his expertise through fellowships in the UK and Australia. 

Mr. Hussey specializes in reconstructive surgery after cancer resection, particularly in microsurgical reconstruction of the breast and head and neck regions. He is also a fellowship-trained hand surgeon and treats various forms of skin cancer. Additionally, he is involved in cosmetic surgery, with a primary interest in breast surgery and body contouring.

He holds several professional roles, including Clinical Director Perioperative Network at Saolta University Hospital Group, Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Galway.

He is a member of both the Irish Association of Plastic Surgeons (IAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Mr. Tayyab Qayyum

Mr. M Tayyab Qayyum is a European-trained Irish Plastic surgeon with 9 years of experience after his training in Plastic & Reconstructive surgery.

Mr Tayyab is on the specialist register for plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery in Ireland.

After his specialist training, he obtained certificate in Aesthetic medicine from American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine as well as obtaining a diploma from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

He pursued further training in some of Ireland’s leading teaching hospitals in Dublin (Beaumont Hospital) & Galway (University Hospital Galway) and has joined our clinic as a full time Plastic Surgeon to provide his expert services in plastic, hand & aesthetic surgery.

Mr. Kenneth Joyce

Mr. Kenny Joyce is a Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon in Galway University Hospital and Portiuncula University Hospital Ballinasloe, appointed in 2021. He lectures on the undergraduate medical programme in NUI Galway and is a Lead Clinician for the National Cancer Control Programme for skin cancer. Kenny is an active member of the Irish Association of Plastic Surgeons and the Irish Hand Surgery Society.

Kenny is a graduate of NUI Galway. He has broad experience in all aspects of plastic surgery following his specialist training in Ireland. His fellowship in Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust, UK involved all aspects of hand surgery involving complex reconstruction of adult and paediatric hand conditions, as well as microvascular reconstruction of lower limb injuries.

Mr. Joyce was awarded the European Diploma in Hand Surgery in 2021. Kenny is pleased to offer patients abroad spectrum of plastic surgery, specialising in skin oncology surgery, hand surgery and reconstructive upper and lower limb surgery.

Ms. Maire-Caitlin Casey

Maire-Caitlin Casey is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeon
based in Galway. She graduated from NUI Galway with an honours degree in 2011
before completing her PhD the Lambe Institute of Translational research, Galway,
assessing novel mechanisms for neoadjuvant chemotherapy response monitoring in
breast cancer. She completed her higher surgical training through the RCSI, Dublin,
before moving to London, where she completed a fellowship in microvascular
surgery in the Royal Marsden Hospital, specialising in reconstruction of the breast
and in complex skin cancer. She then worked as a Consultant in the Royal Marsden
Hospital and gained experience of cosmetic breast surgery and oculoplastic surgery
through working in The London Clinic, King Edward VII th Hospital and the Harley
Street Clinic. She is a member of the Irish Association of Plastic Surgeons (IAPS)
and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons
(BAPRAS).

Mr. Ryan Sugrue

Mr. Ryan Sugrue is a plastic surgeon specializing in hand and wrist surgery. He earned his medical degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and completed his plastic surgery training in Ireland, followed by a fellowship in orthopedic hand surgery.

Mr. Sugrue is a member of the Irish Association of Plastic Surgeons, the Irish Hand Surgery Society, and a Fellow of the European Board of Hand Surgery. He has a special interest in Dupuytren's disease, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and bone and soft tissue tumors of the hand.

Katie Qualified with a bachelors degree in adult nursing from university of Hertfordshire  in 2011. She worked for many years in ICU and completed  a post graduate diploma in intensive care 2016, from NUIG.

She has been working in Management roles since 2020 and  completed  diploma from University college Dublin in 2020.

Throughout this time she discovered  her passion for plastic surgery and dermatology.

She is currently undertaking a MSc in Skin lesion Management from university of Hertfordshire and a certificate in nurse prescribing from NUIG and will qualify in both in  2024.

She is Dedicated to making a positive impact to all patients. She finds it incredibly rewarding to see the impact of our collective efforts on improving the health and well-being of our patients.

When katie is not working she loves keeping fit, going to the gym and exploring different cultures while travelling the world.

Siobhan qualified in 2010 with a Bachelors of General Nursing Science Degree from NUIG. From her tenure in medical wards in the UK & Australia to her role as a scrub nurse in vascular and renal surgery in Ireland & Saudi, she has showcased her dedication to the field. Her passion for plastics and skin lesions flourished during her time working alongside multiple Consultant Plastic Surgeons where she found her niche. Siobhan completed a surgical skills course at DCU, underscoring her commitment to professional development. 

Beyond her professional endeavours, Siobhan embraces a balanced lifestyle, finding joy in running and gym activities. This commitment to personal well-being reflects her holistic approach to life.

Aileen graduated from NUIG in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree. She embarked on a diverse nursing career, beginning with stints in both inpatient and outpatient dialysis units in the UK. Aileen further broadened her knowledge in medical and surgical specialties during her time in Australia before returning to Ireland in 2016.

Over the last number of years she has worked in various surgical divisions. In 2024, she completed a surgical skills course at DCU and remains dedicated to furthering her education in this area.

Outside of work, Aileen finds joy in prioritizing fitness. She also shows her creative side by pursuing her passion for brows and lashes.
